The Dahme-Spreewald district is located southeast of Berlin at the intersection of key European transport axes. Whether by road, rail, water or air – our excellent transport infrastructure means you will reach your destination by the shortest route!

The motorways A10 (Berliner Ring), A12, A13 and A113 take you directly to Berlin, Hamburg, Warsaw, Prague and Paris. The federal highways B87, B96, B115, B168, B179, B246 and B320 as well as a dense network of regional and district roads ensure smooth mobility in the area.

A well-developed railway network will also transport you through the region in the shortest possible time. From the district town of Lübben it is only 45 minutes to the German capital Berlin. The northern part of the district up to Königs Wusterhausen is also integrated into the Berlin S-Bahn network.

The Schönefelder Kreuz freight traffic centre (GVZ) integrates freight traffic by road, rail and water. The inland port of Königs Wusterhausen – the core of the GVZ – is an important hub for handling bulk, heavy and general cargo.

You can also quickly reach the new airport Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt in the north of the district of Dahme-Spreewald. Since October 2020, BER has been concentrating all air traffic in the capital region at one location in Schönefeld. New prospects for international connections and direct flights will establish the region as a hub for global air traffic.
